Lincolnview Open House - August 17, 2020

Lincolnview Local Schools

 Open House - August 17th 6:00-7:30pm

In an effort to reduce the number of people attending Open House on August 17th, Lincolnview Local Schools will be taking the following actions:

  • Open House will only be for grades Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 7th grade, and all new incoming students to Lincolnview Local Schools. These are transition years and students and parents are welcome to visit their teachers and classrooms. We ask that you choose a time that is convenient for you, but does not have to be at exactly 6:00pm. Arriving a little later may help spread the number of people out over the course of the evening. Please only attend with one/two parent(s) or guardian(s) and the student(s) entering the above grade levels. We are really trying to limit the number of people in the building that evening and appreciate your help with this.
Reopening plan - Lincolnview Local Schools (July 31, 2020)

Dear Lincolnview Parents,

On July 2, 2020, Governor Mike DeWine announced the guidelines for schools to reopen for the 2020-21 school year.  The guidelines contained five areas our district plan must include: assessing symptoms, hand washing, sanitation of facilities, practice social distancing, and face coverings.

Our plan addresses each of those five areas in some detail.  The most important aspects of our reopening plan is the health and safety of everyone associated with Lincolnview Local Schools; however the quality of education we provide is also a vital factor in the decisions that we make as we return to our school facilities.

We do understand that families could be uncomfortable sending their children back to school, especially those who have significant health issues or immediate family members with health issues, back to an in-person school setting.  In an effort to meet their educational needs, we will offer an on-line learning option (NOVA) for those students who desire a short-term remote learning program.

Reopening Plan for Van Wert County Schools - July 24, 2020

Dear Lincolnview Parents, Students, & Community:

On Thursday, July 2, 2020, Governor Mike DeWine released the “Reset and Restart Education Planning Guide for Ohio Schools and Districts.”  Since that day of the release, the Van Wert County Superintendents of Lincolnview, Crestview, Van Wert City, and Vantage Career Center have met numerous times to identify common practices for reopening the county’s public school districts. This “Reopening Plan Agreement of Van Wert County Schools” (see link below) is a result of this collaboration, as well as, guiding input provided by the Van Wert County Health Department.

As we move forward from now until the start of the school year, each Superintendent will be providing additional information to all employees, parents, and students within each school district. We are planning next week to present more district-specific guidelines, as well as, each districts’ remote learning plan. All districts will continue to post their information on district websites. The Superintendents will also continue collaborating as preparations continue to unfold within the next several weeks before the start of the approaching school year.

This upcoming school year certainly presents many new challenges and at times a number of changes within the school day. However, there are also new opportunities to embrace as we continue to provide rich educational experiences for the students within Van Wert County and Lincolnview Local Schools.

Reopening Plan Agreement of Van Wert County Schools

Community Center

Dear Lincolnview Community,

In partnership with the Van Wert County Health Department, we have been working diligently the past couple of weeks planning on how to re-open the “Lincolnview Community Center.”  After much time collaborating, we are ready to open up the Community Center.  The center will be open to our members beginning Monday, June 22nd with new hours of 9:00 am – 9:00 pm (Monday through Saturday).  There will be some changes as you enter the facility.  A Front Desk Attendant will complete the following each time you enter:

➢ Taking and documenting your temperature – (with a “No-touch”thermometer)

➢ Asking a pre-set number of questions regarding your health and exposure to others

➢ Keeping track on the number of people within the facility, as we will be having a max number allowed in the facility at one time

Grade 7-11 Students and Families

We are requesting only students who are withdrawing from Lincolnview School or students who will be attending Vantage Career Center in the fall return your school issued textbooks and Chromebooks to Lincolnview. You can do that by dropping them off in the HS office during weekdays from 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM. For right now, we are asking that all students who are returning to Lincolnview hang on to their school issued textbooks and Chromebooks. Please keep them until a message goes out in the fall with further directions on getting them back to the school.
